Format & Match Structure
Format
- Played under World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF) rules
- Two competition courts
- Group stages followed by single-elimination finals
- Each team plays 5 group stage matches
Match Structure
Each match will run for 35 minutes:
- 15-minute First Half of the Game
- 5-minute break, includes time for no blocking
- 15-minute Second Half of the Game
There will be:
- 10 minutes between matches to support no blocking, or any delays
- 1-hour lunch break
Tight scheduling — punctuality is essential
🧑⚖️ Refereeing Responsibilities
Dodgeball runs on community effort. Teams sitting out must provide players to referee.
Each court requires:
- 1 Head Referee (Middle Section)
- 2 Court Referees (One on each side of the court)
- 1 Assistant Referee (Middle Section)
Ref Positions:
- Head Ref and Assistant Ref opposite each other at center line
- Court Refs diagonally across from each other
- Head Referee has final decision on calls

- Know the WDBF rules before arrival
- Respect referee calls
- Demonstrate strong sportsmanship
Referees
- Stay focused and engaged
- Respect players
- Officiate with fairness and energy
